Dr. Listiyani Astuti (TCM) is the founder and practitioner behind Aesha Spirit, a holistic wellness practice devoted to supporting self-discovery, holistic healing, and spiritual evolution.
Based in Melbourne, Australia, she offers a heart-centred treatment blend of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Yang Sheng, Meditation, Self-Growth & Spiritual Guidance.
With a background in classical Chinese Medicine and a deep passion for mind-body-spirit alignment, her work is anchored in the belief that true healing arises when all parts of ourselves—physical, mental, emotional, and energetic—are honoured and integrated.
In addition to her extensive training in holistic healing, Dr. Listiyani is a trauma-informed practitioner trained in Nonviolent Communication (NVC). She holds a compassionate and emotionally safe space, with a clear presence that supports clients in feeling seen, heard, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
My fascination with health began with food. Believing deeply in food as medicine, I originally studied Food Science and worked as a food technologist and chemist. However, stepping into the industry left me disillusioned. I saw how far the modern food system had strayed from nourishing human well-being.
I still believed in the profound healing potential of nature, but I knew I needed to explore it through a deeper, more holistic lens.
In 2010, guided by curiosity and the ancient Eastern wisdom that "food and medicine share the same root," I walked into my first Introduction to Chinese Medicine class. Everything instantly clicked. I felt a deep calling and decided to take the leap and commit to the intensive 5-year double-degree Bachelor's program in Chinese Medicine and Health Science at RMIT.
After completing my final semester clinical internship at a hospital in Nanjing, China, I graduated with deep excitement to step into clinical practice. But just after my first year of this new career, I hit a profound wall.
Without realizing it at the time, I was experiencing severe burnout. My mental and emotional landscape collapsed, eventually turning into deep depression, social anxiety, and mild agoraphobia. Unable to understand why I felt so miserable when I had so much going for me, I turned inward with heavy shame, self-blame, and guilt. I disconnected from the world, turned off my phone, and spent 18 months in a limbo-like fog—scared to face the world, living in a constant existential crisis.
Looking back, the unconditional love, patience, and acceptance from my two cats, family and friends helped me to survive, even when I was too numb and ashamed to receive their support fully.
A major breakthrough came unexpectedly when a dear friend offered to take me camping to Wilsons Promontory.
After just one night sleeping close to the earth, I woke up feeling a shift. For the first time since my mental health took a turn, the heavy fog in my head began to lift. Reconnecting with nature became my sanctuary and my path back to life.
Slowly, step by step, I rebuilt my confidence. I started slowly working as a clinic receptionist and herbal dispenser, giving myself permission to heal gently without the weight of responsibility. A year later, I attended my first ever spiritual retreat—a profound experience that provided the missing answers to my dark night of the soul.
I realized that my breakdown wasn't a personal failure or lost time—it was a sacred initiation. It forced me to look beyond clinical textbooks and understand first-hand the intricate web connecting our unexpressed emotions, subtle bodies, nervous system responses, and physical symptoms. It was through the deep darkness that my true purpose was awakened and brought to light.
With this newfound clarity, I stepped back into clinical practice in 2020 with a dedicated focus on mental health, emotional well-being, spiritual cultivation, and consciousness work. From that moment forward, I intentionally devoted my personal development and continuing professional education exclusively to these themes—deepening my skills in trauma-informed care, somatic release, and psychospiritual alignment.
This lived experience transformed how I view health entirely. It taught me that physical treatments alone are incomplete if we ignore the emotional and spiritual landscape beneath them.
"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all." — Oscar Wilde
During my journey of rebuilding, an intuitive name reading illuminated that the energetic weight of my past mental health struggles was still closely tied to the identity I had carried up to that point.
I have always loved the name given to me by my father—it holds a special place in my heart, and I hold immense gratitude for the role it played in my life. It was not about renouncing where I came from, but rather recognizing that I was ready to let go of the old energy that had served its purpose on my journey, but no longer resonated with where I was going. I wanted a new name to serve as a conscious anchor for the intention I wished to carry forward—both in my personal life and in my work.
The name Aesha came to me in a moment of pure inspiration. I didn't know its meaning at the time, but when I looked it up afterward, I was moved to tears.
Aesha means "She who lives well."
For someone who had spent months struggling simply to exist, this meaning touched the deepest parts of my soul. It became my personal anchor, a reminder of my rebirth, and the core foundation of my clinical practice.
I do not view myself as a practitioner that 'fixes' you, but rather walking beside you as a witness and dedicated collaborator on your path back to wholeness.
I know what it feels like to sit in the fog, to feel ashamed of your pain, and to wonder if you will ever feel "normal" again. Aesha Spirit was born out of my own healing, remembrance, and reconnection.
Whether you are carrying physical symptoms, deep emotional heaviness, or seeking a path through your own spiritual dark night, I offer a grounded, safe, and compassionate space to help you decipher your body's wisdom, reclaim your power, and learn to live well again.
"Simply being deeply seen and held in a space of presence is, in itself, part of the healing process."
To support a world where healing is an act of self-remembrance, and every individual feels empowered to align with their true essence—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
I envision a sanctuary where health is recognized not as a solitary, isolated struggle, but as a shared journey of connection, collective holding, and mutual remembrance—reminding us that we are never meant to walk through the dark alone.
At Aesha Spirit, I hold a compassionate, grounded space for integrative healing and soul-led transformation. Through personalized treatments, trauma-informed holding, and intuitive care, I support you to:
Rebalance & Restore: Soothe the nervous system and nourish physical well-being through Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
Release & Process: Gently illuminate and release stuck emotional patterns, trauma, and stress stored within the organs, meridians, and subtle biofields.
Align & Cultivate: Foster clarity, vitality, and inner harmony through Yang Sheng (life-nourishing wisdom), meditation, and consciousness-based practices.
Empower & Reclaim: Walk alongside you with trauma-informed presence, NVC-inspired dialogue, and spiritual insight—supporting you in stepping out of survival mode and reclaiming your power to live well.
Seeing the whole, not just the symptoms
I believe true wellness comes from harmony of body, mind, and spirit. Every offering — is rooted in seeing the whole person and helping you to re-align with your natural flow.
Real healing is an active process— one you choose and own.
I will be your guide: helping you to trust your inner wisdom, set your intentions, and reclaim your power and autonomy to walk on your path.
A sanctuary for deep rest and release.
The heart of my practice is a deep compassion and respect for each person's soul journey. Every session will be a safe, sacred space for you to feel, rest, release and reconnect —free from judgment, hurry, or pressure.
